What's on

Covid-19 means changes to what we do

Following recent changes to Public Health England and Government advice regarding Covid-19 (Coronavirus) all face-to-face courses have been cancelled until further notice.

Throughout this period we will be sharing links here so that you can use online resources to prepare for labour, birth, nurturing and feeding your newborn, and settling in to family life. (Keep popping back from time-to-time to check for new links.)

You can also keep up-to-date with us at Better Births at Calderdale and Huddersfield https://www.facebook.com/betterbirthsCHFT/

If you need to talk to us about any of the topics shared on What's on, please call or text the What’s on line 0771 751 7563 and a member of the team will get back to you as soon as possible.

We will keep reviewing the Covid-19 situation and will resume our programme of courses as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Be your own champion in pregnancy #AlwaysAsk

Each day in the UK, 10 babies are stillborn and 152 babies are born preterm, causing untold heartache to parents and extended families.

In 2017 Tommy’s, with King's College London and BabyCentre, launched a safer pregnancy campaign called #AlwaysAsk to empower pregnant women to overcome fears about speaking to professionals about health concerns. CHFT maternity services is a supporter of this campaign.

Research from King’s College London has shown that women’s knowledge about their own changing body is invaluable in contributing to safer pregnancies but that they often struggle to voice their instincts and concerns.

CHFT maternity staff are always here to listen to you and to help you. We want you to trust your instincts and #AlwaysAsk

Here are some links to #AlwaysAsk resources that might help you to feel more confident about asking for help and advice whenever your instinct tells you that something just isn’t quite right.
